GENERAL INFORMATION
Our history department established at 2008 under the Faculty of Arts and Science depending on Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University. The department began its instructional activities at the academic year of 2008-2009. The department four associate professors, twelve assistant professors, five research assistants and provides undergraduate, MA and Phd programs since 2008-2009. Furthermore the unit of Atatürk’s Revolution and Principles is conducted by the history department.
The educational language of the department is Turkish. It is consisted of ancient history, general Turkish history, medieval history, Ottoman institutions and civilization history, early modern history, contemporary history and Turkish Republic history fields and the undergraduate, MA and Phd students have been studying at these fields. Courses from the beginning of pre-historic ages, the methodology of history, civilization history, general Turkish history, Islamic history, Middle Asian Turkish history, Turkish history before and after Islam, history of the Great Seljukid and Anatolian Seljukid states, Ottoman history, the socio-economic life and institutional structure of Ottoman State, the relations of Ottoman State with European and Asian states, history of Russia, Ottoman-Russian relations, Turkish Republic history, history of Middle Eastern, history of Far East, history of Europe and America, history of Turkish culture, philosophy of history, history of colonialism and modern world history are taught.
